About

'Inspired by my love of Nature and passion for gardens, I depict the flowers I grow, and those I see in their abundance around my home in South Devon.’

Childhood

Born in Devon, and brought up in a small village next to the River Tavy,  I was immersed in nature from a young age.

From the wild Honeysuckle and Buddleia that grew madly over the front gate, to the annual ritual of picking Daffodils and Primroses to celebrate Easter, my childhood memories often feature the flowers that were out at the time.

Education

I studied Textile design at Falmouth University and then Winchester School of Art graduating in 1992 with a BA (Hons).

Textile Design

This led me to follow a successful career as a Textile designer in London for over 10 years, with designs selling internationally and regularly appearing on the British High Street and featuring in many magazines.

Floral Artist

Returning home to South Devon to be near and have my own family, I joined Whistlefish, a Cornish company specialising in reproducing Artists work for Greeting cards, Prints and Stationery.

My designs are now part of an expanding range of products.

Every year my new collection is exhibited and sold at The Chelsea Flower Show.

Watercolour

I work mainly in watercolour and ink on paper, which gives vibrant colour, wonderful fluidity and captures light.

Mark

'Jessica’s unique style and her sensitive creative approach to flowers and plants combine to form striking yet subtle images.'

Mary

"I bought these as a treat for my sister, but almost didn’t part with them. They are about the loveliest flower cards I have ever seen. So delicate and accurate each one is a work of art."
